Pinout and functionality is almost the same as FTDI Basic Breakout, can be used to program Arduino Pro, Pro Mini, Lilypad
5V Vcc supply is not harmful to these Arduino boards, but may be a problem for sensitive circuits like sensors
Compared to FTDI Basic, FTDI Cable is well-protected but large, while FTDI Basic has LED indicators but requires Mini-B cable
FTDI Cable uses RTS signal, FTDI Basic uses DTR to cause hardware reset.
